BTW, my horse is Chase Oliver. I didn't want to jump through all the hoops for the write in. I wanted to get in and out.
They need to add an option to the straight party voting area: "Anything not R or D".
I took my time and even voted for all the judges and whatnot running unopposed. I won't the win the presidency, but dammit, I'm winning some races!
I voted for every Libertarian on the ballot, voted for a small handful of U.S. Taxpayers, and also voted for some Ds and Rs when no other options were available.
We had two levies up for renewal (yes to both) and an issue to repel the mind bogglingly moronic decision by this area (not the whole county, but not a single town, not a township either...it's a weird area), which is ON THE FUCKING BORDER with Ohio, to ban pot shops. This would allow them to open X# around here.
I know a voter who wrote a very well worded letter to the supervisor at the time pot became legal here. It detailed where to locate the pot shops so they were well away from the town and neighborhoods and would allow Ohio traffic to go back without coming neither either. It went on to explain that we needed to act quickly because eventually Ohio would also make pot legal and we would miss out on millions of dollars that could be put into the community.
Dipshit didn't listen to me though, and I'm pretty sure his political career is over. Didn't see him anywhere on the ballot, did see his job though, and haven't heard his name in a few years now. Also, Ohio has legalized pot, although are seriously dragging their feet on it.
The vote no people on this issue around here are fucking morons. "Not here!!" read their signs. It's already here assholes! My wife partakes and I've gone to the stores with her. I see all of your neighbors, business owners/workers, teachers, etc. Pot is going legal throughout the U.S. and you can't stop it. Actively choosing to not profit off of it puts you in the same boat as people who thought TV was a fad.
