Principle shooting is done.
Now they just have to CGI-in the other 92% of the film.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
Haven't seen it, may or may not DVR it when it hits cable, and here's a review of the film that tells me what I already suspected. Spoilers galore, but it doesn't matter.

"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
The 'mom' thing was one of the problems I have with the flick. In the first flick, she was calling Sam masturbating, "Sam's special alone time." In this movie she is saying, "I want a pool and I'm gonna skinnydip and I don't give a shit what the neighbors say." Really? Is she growing a personality-changing brain tumor, or something?
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Not a comprehensive list, but here are a couple intial thoughts:
Likes:
- Better cinematography... basically most of the complaints I had about the first film focussing on the wrong things have been fixed. The 'epic battles' are much easier to follow, and you are able to see the flow of the fights, and most of them are pretty cool. Are there are a shitload of them
- BIG fights. It actually seems like the military is being used in this one, including a Marine Battalion Landing Team making an amphib landing.... and I think they said it was actually my old unit. Which it could have been, because we were staged in the relevant area.
- I'm pretty sure they were taking shots at Obama, which is actually fair since they took their shots at Bush in the first one. Basically, Obama takes over and puts a douche in charge of the secret autobot force.
- John Tuturo's character has a nice little redemption. He was a cartoon villian in the first movie, and was actually likable in this one.
- Sam is much less hate-able in this one. Not a single time does he shout "No no no NO NO NO!"
- We actually see a lot of people die in this one, which like I said in my review of the first movie really does go a long way to giving weight to the actions of the bad guys.
Dislikes:
- Cussing just to cuss. My son is learning some new colorful metaphors.
- The retard twins.
- The "Mom..." she doesn't know what a pot brownie is? Really?
- Many of the things mentioned in the linked article, above. Some things mentioned in that link were forgivable, but some aren't.
- The beginning, the autobots are hunting down deceptigons in hiding.... and executing them. Strait up running them down, subduing them, and shooting them in the head in cold blood with a witty remark. Good guys don't do that, do they?
