Hump Day

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

All the previews show this as a comedy. The box cover declares it's hilarious. The premise seems like it too, as two straight men find themselves making a porn film together (just them) for an art festival.

Unfortunately, this is not a comedy. Nor is it entertaining. It's a slow, slow 90 minutes of nothing.

So these two guys are old college friends. One is married and trying to have a kid. The other is a roamer. The roamer comes in town to visit his buddy, and they end up at a party. The conversation turns to pornfest where people make porno films as art, and they all get destroyed after the festival. The idea is thrown out about two straight men having sex on film as art that would be powerful. Lots of macho posturing ensues resulting in an agreement to make the film.

I have no idea what the social commentary here was supposed to be: all people are gay, men have hang ups, macho=bad, etc.

I don't know, I guess the point was to make people uncomfortable with all the discussions about "alternative" sex, but it wasn't uncomfortable, it was dull.

It's all crap though. Just a boring and meaningless film.

2 out of 10.
