Broken

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

An indy film.

A women is captured by a psycho who tries to test her and instill some toughness in her before allowing her to become his concubine.

This is an example of inconsistent writing. The man's objective, methods, or how he abducts the women are never explained. Certain things he says during the film also contradict his actions. And his actions towards the end were completely opposite from his established character traits.

The acting throughout was hit or miss. There were moments of excellent acting, and quite a few moments that were awkward.

The special effects were fine, as was the set. Although, even the set stood as a reminder as to how weak the explanation has been regarding the psycho.

I also want to point out that another scene was just for shock value and it failed miserably. The desired effect did not work on me, and I would assume the same results for most horror audiences. The scene was completely unnecessary and I'm certain would have been dropped if this movie had been presented to a focus group.

Ignore the raving reviews on the box. This was mediocre.

3 out of 10.
