Thank you for smoking

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Not as funny as I thought it would be. Again, the previews pretty much covered all the funny stuff. And again, when in the context of the rest of the movie, where not as funny. At first I thought it was going to be a satire about how fucked up the tobacco industry is. And it was in a way. But over all, I'd say they were trying to do some reverse satirical something or other. Cause the only message I got from it was that people should be able to make their own decisions and if they are too stupid to research the dangers of something themselves then fuck 'em. . . or something.

Instead of being entertained, I walked away feeling like I got a subliminal political message that was skewed toward the pro tabacco side of the argument. I felt preached to at a subconcious level. But by no means was it the columbine-9/11 type thing. It was WAAAAYYYY more subtle about it.

There were some funny things, but over all, it was pretty blah.

This one I liked a lot. It was produced by some guys that are anti-smoking but pro-choice about it, and I thought they did a good job in portraying the characters and telling an interesting story.

I especially liked Rob Lowe's part in the movie. Very amusing.

The only part I didn't care for...SPOILER BELOW...

I think it was an alternate ending, but the ending where the son lit up at the press conference was (would have been) brilliant. Not the way they portrayed that ending, though, because they said it was that his son had learned nothing through all this. Rather, that ending would have been perfect if it turned out the son learned everything perfectly and he did it to spin against his Dad. That would have been great. Oh, well.

END SPOILER

I was rooting for the pro-smoking PR guy. The irony is that the "pro-smoking" PR guy claimed to have comprimised morals, but it was his anti-smoking opponents who seemed to have no integrity whatsoever.
