Speaking of potential sucking...

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

This is the potential suck king.

Does this have even a slight chance of being decent?

I'm guessing no.

Looks like they are shitting on the character's established back story.

I'm a fan of the previous four films so I'm not ready yet to say this will suck. I haven't read the book yet so I don't know how good the source material is but the other books were good also so I am hopeful.

No anthony hopkins on screen could end up being a dud but there is rumors that he will narrate the film and some sort of involvement can help.

I loved Silence of the Lambs. Loved it. Bought it. Watch it now and then.

Hannibal, on the other hand, was ass. Anthony was great, but the writers really took liberty with the characters and the realistic tone the film had.

I tried to sit through Manhunter once, but was pretty bored.

I have no idea if I've ever seen Red Dragon. Really. I think I might have, but if I did, it left no impression on me.

Heh... Manhunter was the only one I actually liked. Hannibal was WAY too empathetic to be a serial killer in the later movies. Brian Cox played a much more believable killer.

Behavioral Science Unit (or whatever they're calling themselves now-a-days) do not recruit out of the FBI's academy... EVER.

Manhunter was the only one that actually had a detective story to it. In Silence it was "Hey, you worked with this dead chick, right? Holy shit! I'm in the killer's house. OMFG!!!"
