See No Evil

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Not the worst horror film you've ever seen, but not a great one either.

Big dude kills people and steals their eyes.

LOTS of plot problems with this bad boy. I mean, we're talking boatloads. (If you're interested start a spoiler chain and we'll discuss them.)

The writing isn't the star here by any stretch of the imagination, but as bad as the plot is, it works too. There is actually a not horrible method behind the killer's madness. It's too bad all the shitty, predictable writing destroys your suspension of disbelief.

The shocking part is the wrestler playing the killer does a great job of acting. Well, maybe not that surprising since that's what he does in his normal job, but he's perfect for the part. It's too bad the writing was so bad because he pulls this role off well enough that he could've become sort of a horror staple.

All the other players are poorly acted and poorly written with the exception of the male cop. He's well acted, not well written.

Once the killing starts, it goes fast, and there's really no point to it. Consider a HUGE building and the killer is everywhere all the time sneaking around without being seen, heard, or even having his victims' screams heard despite being a room away at times.

This is a total mess that while entertaining up to a point, it could have really been the start of a new horror franchise.

4 out of 10.

The new horror flicks seem intent on bringing back the raw, brutal violence of the '70s & early '80s. Too bad they've completely missed every other aspect of it.
