As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Winner of this year's (or last?) Project Greenlight and produced by Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Wes Craven.

Picture "From Dusk Til Dawn" combined with "Tremors" with a lot more gore and no stars (unless you think Henry Rollins counts). Oh wait, I take it back Jason Mewes is in it.

Basically, several different people get stuck in a tavern in the middle of nowhere while monsters are outside trying to get in and eat them.

Fun, entertaining, yet too tongue in cheek and poorly acted.

There is no backstory on anyone or even on the creatures. The explanation for why they're attacking is really, really bad. Put simply, you're not renting this for the plot.

There are no subplots, no romantic interests (well, not really), no the world is in danger themes, just a tavern getting attacked by monsters and people getting killed. That's it.

Lots of sophomoric humor throughout including dumb on screen jokes about each character's purpose and life expectancy and even monster sex. (really)

Overall, this is pure camp. Don't expect a good plot or acting, and you'll stand a chance of enjoying it. This is one of those films that's fun to watch just for the goofy jokes and the gore. Being as it's Halloween, it's worth a viewing between actually scary films to take the edge off.

4 out of 10.
