Christ. I know we had a thread on this somewhere, but no search terms are yielding hits.
The parents of a teenage drunk driver who walked away with probation after killing four people will pay a little more than 5% of his monthly treatment costs at a state hospital, a judge decided.

Ah, well. I suppose they owe him some treatment after the jail time.
Boyd has previously said that her decision to sentence Ethan to ten years of probation—without any jail time— had not been influenced by the “affluenza” defense.

Hmm, maybe the family couldn't afford it.
The judge rejected the family’s request to place Ethan in an exclusive $450,000-a-year rehab center near Newport Beach, Calif. He has been in the state-owned mental health facility since Feb. 19.

Hmm, his family sounds loaded.
