The Creator (2023)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

The Creator (2023)

Post by Leisher »

AI and humans have gone to war after AI nukes LA. The West has banned AI, but the East still develops and works with it. One American is stuck between the two worlds and is the key to stopping a secret weapon the AI side has developed.

Based on the effects, battles, etc. you'd expect this to have had a massive budget, but it was only $80M. That is, far and away, the most impressive thing about this movie. Seriously Hollywood, take fucking notes. Seriously, if you watch it, you'll think this was north of $250M to make.

The acting is good, the cinematography is fantastic, again the effects are outstanding, etc.

The unfortunate thing is the script is kind of a mess. It's plodding, predictable, has several glaring holes, is filled with cliches, etc.

It also didn't need to be 2 hours and 13 minutes. 90 minutes would have been plenty.

Absolutely worth seeing for the effects, however at 2 hours and change of this slow story, I cannot recommend it.

I liked it more than you did. The acting of the child (9 years old I think?) was top notch. Was very impressed with her.

Stuff that bothered me would be spoilers:

So, AI wins with human help? I could totally see this happening though. Thanks 'The Left'.
However, AI claims if the west stops, then there is peace. All they want is peace. But they nuked? Did humans nuke to try to stop AI? I forget who nuked and why.

Agree. She was very good.

Just noticed I used the other "spoil" tag.
