Apparently that link has the internet talking because it wasn't there or like that before. No official word, but obviously people are thinking new Baldur's Gate game.

Comment in the code of the page that pretty much seals the deal:

Either that, or we're being punked. Registration data is obscured, it's registered through GoDaddy as of October, and there's nothing to link it to Bioware. Unlike other Bioware registrations, which go through a much better registrar and list EA as the contact.

Ah, Bioware isn't involved. That explains the oddities.

Article on the latest Baldur's Gate news.

Apparently, they just spit shined the first game, and are saying a polish of Icewind is likely prior to BG3.

Is there money in improving old games? Is there a large audience still playing BG?

No graphical enhancements. It looks the same as the first. I would have gladly paid for the game(during a steam sale which isn't happening) if they would have improved the look but $20 for a couple new characters/locations and the new story line just being an arena battle seems a bit much.

Also if you already own the games GoG have a walkthrough on how to make your own enhanced edition which is almost the same as the $20 version.

Maybe doing it to generate buzz? Refamiliarize themselves with the software/hardware environment before going gung-ho on 3?

I'd gladly shell out $5 a hit for the revamped BG and ID series.
