It's the future and water is scarce (although, it's not...). One farmer keeps his family in the dusty area because he feels the land is fertile, he just needs water.
Weird film. The director clearly tried to do something different. Even the credits are unusual. The visuals aren't bad at all, but the world doesn't seem to have a water shortage, just that area.
The movie is predictable and suffers from "Ned Stark Syndrome" where the patriarch has to be a complete fucking moron for the story to progress.
Acting is really solid throughout.
Just isn't a great movie.
