Nic Cage, aka No Talent Ass Clown, is hired by the widow of an rich, dead dude to figure out wtf is up with the snuff film in his vault.
Review:
This is a Joel Schumacher film. It's pretty much the last watchable one he ever made, and it gets lazy towards the end.
Seriously, check these resume highlights:
1983: D.C. Cab
1987: Lost Boys
1993: Falling Down
Then came the clusterfuck that was the Batman franchise under his watch.
Here's his catalog after 8MM:
Flawless (1999) (also Producer and Writer)
Tigerland (2000)
Bad Company (2002)
Phone Booth (2003)
Veronica Guerin (2003)
The Phantom of the Opera (2004) (also Writer)
The Number 23 (2007)
Blood Creek (2009)
Twelve (2010)
Trespass (2011)
I'm emphasizing one flick in particular here because it contains the worst fucking plot twist in history and requires the protagonist to be lobotomized in order for it to work.
For the first half of this movie, it actually is very noiry and reminiscent of Se7en with less acting prowess. The third act blows goats.
Verdict:
60 minutes of entertainment. Would've made a good short film.
