Walking Dead - Season 5

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

17.3 million viewers.

It was the best episode to date,

Although, the way they showed a final scene AFTER the ending and AFTER the "scenes from next week" was really odd.

This show is still zombie-ing on?

If breaking records in viewership is "zombie-ing" on, then yes.

I saw half of one episode of this show, a few seasons ago. It was stupid beyond words.

Whose opinion to trust?

A guy who hates everything like they all anally raped him or an audience that's breaking records every season.

Tough call.

I think someone was keeping zombies alive in a barn or something in hopes that they could be cured. Shoot that fucker and shoot the zombies after.

The show was dragging hard on the farm, to be fair.

It's gotten much better. And I have higher hopes for the latest season. Will catch up on the new episode this week sometime.

Season 2.

If you go back and read about the origins of the show and the trouble they've had with the show runners and AMC, you'd understand more about why it was slower initially. Part of the problem was that despite record ratings, AMC was taking money from this show and giving it to Mad Men, which they considered their premier show at the time.

That's part of the reason Season 2 was so slow.

On a related note, a few primary characters died before their time because they were brought in by former show runners.

One other thing to point out, there's a scene in the Season 5 premier that was a HUGE inside joke with people who have read the books. I'd explain more, but I can't without spoiling.

Kirkman on a mistake he made in season 1.

Most interesting tidbit:
As for AMC's Walking Dead companion series, little is known about the project other than that it is likely a prequel and it takes place during the early days of the outbreak in other parts of the world. Casting is underway for the pilot, which AMC hopes to have on the air in 2015 as the cable network puts a renewed focus on scripted fare.

Sounds much better than the "a different group in a different place" that people have speculated.

I'm less excited about the spinoff now.

I thought they were going to World War Z it, but now it's just another group. Although, there's no reason they wouldn't be able to pull off killing this entire group at the end of season 1...

World War Z

Book style or movie style?

If you mean the former then I'd be interested. But now thanks to that piece-of-crap movie I have to ask.

Book.

I don't acknowledge that movie as being World War Z.

Did anyone see that coming?

Not a spoiler thread and I figured something would happen, but not that.

Do we have a Walking Dead spoiler thread?

Holy shit.

There's a moment in that last episode that was fucking brutal to watch.

This remains the best drama on TV.

Why would you bring up Game of Thrones in this thread?

Funny, that's my impression of The Walking Dead. GoT has titties.
