You said not to look up the info on the Muslims. I didn't. The Christian : Jew ratio helped out. Combined with the US population, that is. Got approximately 2% of the US as Jews. Fixed the floor-ceiling at 0.25-0.5 of that. I was going to go way lower.

270-something million Christians. Figure that leaves 30M for everyone else. Minus 5.5M. Based on immigration history alone, no way there are as many Muslims as Jews in this country. I brainlessly halved it, then halved it again for the lower range of my guess.

Haven't checked recently, but 10-ish years ago when Bush was declaring war on Islam, I read somewhere that:
1. Most Muslims in this country were Black Americans, like Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan.
2. Most *Arabs* in this country were actually Coptic Christians from Egypt
No idea if these two things were ever true or are true now.
