I finally got to place my small farm! i placed it in the spot that Troy had screenshotted a few pages back, its in the beginner elf region, there was plenty of space there. My only problem is, the map says its only good for seven days and each person can only have one farm on it. Does this mean that i will lose it after that time? will it get put into my inventory afterwards and can i replant it again? I'm thinking i'm gonna lose it for good because its the ONLY space i've found on the server and why would this space be any different. Troy do you know what this area is all about?
HOw do you make these fucking Improvised Armor bullshit things. VERY fucking vague, this game can be.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. Are you talking about regrading the armor? if you are, i wouldn't even bother with that right now, you will be coming across many more pieces of armor.

Saving up my skill points because I'm not sure how I want to spend them yet

Spend these as freely as you like and experiment with them. You can change these anytime you wish for fairly cheap.

Ready for something else to start happening.

Now you can start trying to do the trade quests. i got you started on the first one. Me and Troy can set our farms to be used by the family, so we will have to set those up and you guys can freely use them.

I didn't know your prom date played this game.

I'll be trying to log in again tonight after golf.

Stranger - the small farms will be sent to your mailbox, just like when you demo a house.

It's mostly empty because you can't have more than one or an existing small farm on the server on any character.

The area of two crowns my small farms are in is now making more sense. Saw one of the guilds bragging that they all paid the 150 founders pack and reserved most of it early using that bullshit Gildar chest. Tons of identical large farms and layouts now, all the same people. Bastards.

If we have 5 people on tonight we can set a guild up and I can set the small farms to guild farms. Or figure out the family thing. I have lot of materials left over for your trade quests.

e: Cake you have 50 gilda already? holy hell. Buy a boat and let's built it and all do our trade quests?

So basically i can replant it when i get it back and then i never really have to pay taxes on it?

Yeah, me and him ran through all the green quests together last night. I think we finished the main story line. We were getting 3-4 GS per quest at the end and i also have 35-40 GS myself now. We should get a Clipper boat.

I'd be too much to hope to turn the 50 into a thatched farmhouse, I seriously doubt there is space for one of those on Ollo.

The armor thing was part of a quest. I was supposed to use an armor form work bench thing to make one of 3 things. There are 3 of them all in a row in the area it highlights on the map. I'm trying and trying. Not seeing the option for one of those things. Googled it. No help. Kept looking and trying. FUcking frustrating. Then, way off to the side, away from the other three is a lone 4th one. You go to it, and it has those three things on it. OHHHHH. Use the ONE form, that looks like the rest, that's off by itself, behind a bunch of other shit. That's the fucking one you're supposed to fucking use. Ohhhh. Fuck you.

And the whole questing thing is what is getting old. Trade quest. Fetch quest. Kill quest. Quest quest. I'm quested out. I want to start playing the game!! When do I start doing things with/against other people?

I'd like to do the group dungeon thing that has been hinted at. There are messages talking about areas that are being 'contested' or something. Implying the factions are fighting over something. So far, I don't feel like I'm part of the world. I'm just playing a single player quest game along side other people. But we have no impact on anything. I'm waiting for this MMO to become a world I help shape and play a part in.

I'd be all for that. But, I'd have to buy patron status. Which I would do. But, it kind of seems pointless right now. I wonder if they are at all surprised all the land filled up this quickly, or if it was by design so that real estate became part of the player economy immediately.

I'm betting surprised given that they purposefully denied land ownership from F2P because they thought people would spam free accounts and fill up all the space.

No offense Cake, but you have played one day. I know we have said before in this thread that the PvP game doesn't even start until level 30. So yeah, you're gonna need to do quests to get to that level. Don't like to quest, then farm. There are free farms, me and Troy have said we would open up what farms we have for the rest of us to use. You can make money for yourself in this way or try and craft something/whatever you want.

So far nobody else has even been on to try and work together for anything. We can try and gather wood to build Troy's house, or build a boat. You wanna PvP right now, go swim across the ocean and kill someone with a trade pack and steal their shit. Although i'd bet they are all gonna be a higher level than you and just kick your ass cause you're still a noob without any gear.

I don't know how you can't see we would be working together by helping each other gather resources to get a guild/house/farm in order. Hell, you only played with me for a couple hours last night, how were we supposed to do a group dungeon when a few of us here haven't even created a character yet?!

Have some patience man!

Wanna go to the pvp areas this week and just murder some people to see how that feels? I've heard that groups and stuns/effects make it so you can take on higher levels even as a lowby.

I do.

I've been told by a certain someone that I made my character wrong. :-) I have an archer with some magic behind him. I have 2 stuns right now. One is a 2.x second stun. More of a root though. They can still shoot and cast. It holds them for 2.x seconds 'no matter what' (Assuming no one destuns them). The second stun is a root that holds them for 10 seconds (5 seconds for PvP), or until they take damage. When this stun is broken, it does 350+ damage. I now have a pattern of spells and cool downs that allow me to kill things without them reaching me. Long range spell opens the fight. Then switch to arrows as the monsters approach. First stun is very fast, but only 2 second hold. Followed by the Root with a long cast time, but holds for 10 seconds. Create some distance. Repeat. Works very well. So. Suck it. :-) And, I still haven't spent all my points. I know I can change them at little cost. Just let me be me!! Honestly, I want them there so that if there is a situation I find myself in that needs more cowbell, I can add it right then in the field and not have to go back to town and reconfig my shit. Some of my spells do positive stuff when cast on allies. My 2 second stun increases health regen on allies making my heal spell (that damages enemies) do more healing. I see all kinds of combo options as well. I do like all that stuff. Really opens up team work stuff. My shit builds on Troy's shit that builds on Stranger's shit. That's cool.

I don't know that I'm ready for PvP. It's not that I want to go kill people and take their stuff. Just tired of questing. I think questing as a group will be much better. But still hoping we can establish a home soon.

E: changed my mind

So I think the boat is 1 pack of lumber, 1 pack of stone, 1 of iron.

We could get that together this week(i'm halfway on iron/stone). Then finish the large farm trade quests and go from there. I have extra grapes, olives, meat and feathers for those quest lines. Still working on the 190 fucking rare flowers I need for the last one. Then we could have 2 small farms and a large for guild use.

I'm keeping my payment going on the hell swamp space. I'm guessing space there will be less of an issue in 2 weeks. The ambient music seriously screams at you occasionally. Not farmville preferred.

E: as far as questing, Cake. I never did much of it in Beta. You get a lot of XP for chopping down wild trees, harvesting flowers, stone, etc. So you can gain levels from that instead. The green quests are the only mandatory because you get Gilda from those.

You get Guilda from some yellow ones too. There was one I did for a priestess. I had to go fetch something for her and got one. It was a daily quest. Just FYI. Other thing I noticed about quests, is you can get an over achiever bonus. There were times when I noticed me and my horse getting good XP from easy to kill, plentiful monsters. So I would farm them for a bit. I would get a "Hidden Quest" reward out of the blue for helping make the area safer. Then, when I turned in the quest that took me there in the first place, I would get an over achiever bonus reward. Also, you can turn in an incomplete quest for full payment, but partial XP. So, you'll get the money and items, but less XP.

I turn the music off. One of the first things I do in any game. So, the swamp won't bother me.

I see more and more "House/farm for sale" spam in the chat window. One guy was asking 50 gold for his.

I still don't have a feel for the value of gold. And, isn't trading secure in the game? In fact, to transfer property, don't you have to pay real money? Granted, they might be scamming people because people are stupid. But, it wouldn't be too difficult to securely buy property, would it? Can I give you gold/silver?

I think it's 300 for the house transfer thing. That's like 2-3 bucks?

Not sure about the value of gold, either.

Naima: 500th

Kryios: 2800th

Tahyang: 500th

Salphira: 1700th

Inoch and Enla (new servers): said there was a que, but I got right in.. Hmm...

This is with my patron status that should put me in front of F2P.

They are still fixing bugs where Patron status is fucked up. So, you might be seeing that.

I was looking at the market today. To see what's out there. A few random things. They looked game generated. As in, generic shit that the game sells and people didn't craft/loot. But, everything was priced in credits. I clicked the "get credits" button and it took me to a page to buy credits with real money. Is that the only way to get credits? If so, any market transaction is real money only? That didn't seem right. But, who knows. And the shit would be VERY expensive. Hundreds of credits for generic stuff. $100 for 17k (or so) credits was the best exchange rate. And again, I didn't see anything all that unique or must have about these items. Things like storage chests for your house. A stuffed animal version of mounts. Stuff like that. 600 credits and up for that stuff.

The queue times for this game are MASSIVE turn offs. Day 2 of trying to login and play the damn game, not having fun yet. At this rate I should have a character created by next Tuesday. . . .
