Yes. Also, I didn't realize that you can make tax certificates by converting 200 labor to 5 certs on a small scarecrow.

When you are playing lightly, it's really easy to pay your bills.

yeah, or earn it through the game through the APEX system. Don't know much about this yet, but supposedly you can buy these through the Auction house with ingame credits/gold or whatever.

Maybe Troy can correct me if i'm wrong, but i know this system does exist. I'm not sure how much gold/resources these will cost, but they will be price controlled by the community as far as i know.

Yeah Stranger is right, it will be like how you can buy/sell Plex time in EVE Online. Haven't seen it on the market yet though. Probably because everyone was already Patron.

APEX, short for ArcheAge Patron Exchange, is an in-game item that can be sold on ArcheAge’s Auction House or traded between players; it grants Credits when consumed by a character. The Credits granted by an APEX can then be spent on any Marketplace purchase, including the 30-day Patron Pass mentioned above. This allows industrious players in ArcheAge to let their gameplay pay for their Patron status without spending real money.

I'm also assuming, like Eve, someone has to pay real money for the APEX thing, then sell it in game. So Glyph (or whoever made this game) gets their money.

What's a labor point?!

Game won't let me update yet. I'm assuming at 1:00pm EST, I might be allowed to try. BUT, I also assume that the massive hammering of the servers won't be over until some time next week as every F2P person will be trying from now all the way through the weekend.

Labor points are like stamina for crafting. Patrons get them 10 online 5 offline per... something (15?30m?)

When I'm not playing much, the labor can accumulate, and caps at 5k. So last night when I logged on to 3k labor points and no time for harvesting/mining - I turned a big chunk of my built up labor into housing tax certificates.

Mining is still the best moneymaker I know of. I have 50 cut stone sitting in my inventory and it's like sitting on gold bullion. I've heard the same thing about logs and lumber, but it's been so crowded I haven't been out foraging or looking for illegal farms to steal.

Labor Points i believe will be the major limiting factor for the F2P crowd. At first when you're just harvesting a flower, chopping a tree opening a coin purse, its not much of a big deal. But after a while that starts to add up and eventually when you wanna tend to livestock and feed them and chop them into bits then turn them into something useful you will find your LP to be low real quick.

I believe you can play the game and maybe even enjoy it without ever doing any farming or having a home. But you will use LP for many things and without patron status you will always be in short supply. Thats why alot of F2Pers will be AFK, this way they can still earn LP whilst not really playing. You can buy Labor Potions off the market to help offset this, but that will cost real cash.

As a patron we earn 5 Loyalty Points every day that we log in. And for 25 Loyaty points we can buy a Labor potion and in turn give them to F2P people to help with their labor problems.

F2P time is approaching. Make sure you aren't doing anything dangerous at 1:00EST when the server comes to a grinding halt!!

So, it says "Offline" on the Archeage tab in Glyph. Is it offline, or am I doing something wrong?

Wow, so two new servers for NA.. I'm curious how many people will flock from the current servers? i just wonder why they didn't open these from the start, they knew how many people were founders.

Should say "online" try closing Glyph and reopening it. If that doesn't work then they are prolly having server problems.. Go figure

Hit their forums, and they are implying the servers are still down for F2P maint. I did manage to get the client updated though. New ETA, 11:00 Pacific.

Hey, look at that. A "Play" button!

Too many players in Ollo. Please wait.

Might make sense to either treat Ollo like a tutorial and move later, or just move now. Ollo is just too damn crowded + our prized asset is a house scaffolding in the middle of the fucking swamp whose ambient noise screams at you.

Either way I can't play till later tonight.

e: the coolest housing spots aren't the big giant suburbs. They are definitely the smaller "unlableled" strips. When you can only fit 2-3 houses in an area you actually have neighbors!

Someone make a decision and let me know what server to log onto tonight.

i don't think we need to panic and jump to the new servers just because we got off to a rough start. I kinda like the idea of having to work hard to find that spot that will open up.

But if everyone else wants a frest start then i'd be game for that too.
