Breaking Bad
In the middle of season 4. Skyler stopped being a bitch and did a 180 and is now balls deep... or is trying to be.
Jesse is cool and then he is a junkie and then he is cool and then he acts like a child and then he is cool and then he shoots a guy and falls apart and acts self destructive and then he is cool and then..... they kind of need to pick who they want him to be. This feels schizophrenic.

Nah, all through season 2 and 3 she never even gave him a chance to explain his side of things.
I DO think Walter has a self-destructive streak.... I just watched the episode where he got drunk and told Hank that Gail wasn't the genius, Heisenberg was still out there, which got Hank interested again.... but he still had his reasons, which Skyler was not interested in hearing. Then she just up and kicks him out and says the kids are mine and go away. That shit doesn't fly, especially when she didn't even know why she was kicking him out aside from that he was hiding something from her. Then she banged her boss just to hurt him.
I wouldn't be as forgiving as Walter has been.

What is 'his side of things'. Are you implying there are circumstances where it is acceptable to deal drugs and expose your family to all kinds of damage? At minimum, the family loses everything in the drug bust. At most, they are all wiped out by a rival.
My sister tried the "But it was for his family" bullshit. Placing family first, you would NEVER do something like that. Well, at least a sane person wouldn't.

The fact that friends offered to pay everything takes away ALL excuses he has... I admit that. He has SOMETHING going on in his head that we aren't privy to... the woman even said that they were engaged and starting that company and then one day he just packed his shit and left and no one knows why. So I don't know what is going on in his head, but for some reason he walked away from that life in the past and turned down their money in the present.
That being said, he was looking at the prospect of living for 3 more months, and leaving his family destitute at best, and actually in debt at worst if he had medical treatment. The first season was him figuring he was about to die, so fuck it.... make some quick money for the kids. He would be there and gone before he could get into the "get the whole family wiped out" rivalries. Nobody found out Heisenberg's real identity until Saul's PI in season 2 or 3.
But then his cancer got better. And then he tried to clean up his act... but he got both bought and seduced by a professional who gave him a really nice lab where he could make sweet, sweet love to chemistry all the livelong day. And then Skyler did a 180 decided to get in on it and now he is back with his family again, who he thought would never be privy to his double life and subjected to danger.
So, he started out with a pretty good plan, if he'd have gone ahead and died when he was supposed to. But then Skyler went Full metal Bitch and things got all pear shaped.
Keep in mind I have not yet seen beyond S04E06. No spoilers beyond there.

Ya, well. I guess in my world, drug dealing is never a good idea. But ok, he hopes to get lucky, score some quick cash, then get out. But then he got better, and stayed in it. Got bigger. Got more enemies. More powerful enemies. Etc. He got better early in season one, if memory serves, but he never got out. Kept expanding, in fact.
He went from "I will some how pull this off, not get my family involved and keep them safe" to "Fuck you family. I'm doing what I want and you need to just deal the fuck with it because I'm fucking Heisenburg".
I don't remember him ever saying "I'm sorry. This was stupid. I need help getting out." It was always "Shut the fuck up. Deal with it. And smile while you're doing it."

Well shit. Jesse got his shit together, Walter is living in a world of paranoia, Gus is actually a sympathetic character, and Skyler just gave Captain Dumbass $600k of Walter's money which he is going to blow.

So I spent my quiet day home alone today watching the last 4 episodes o season 4. Very hard core ending.... and it felt like a real ending. So then season 5 starts and there are new characters and a new situation that the viewers didn't know about and....
Was it supposed to end at season 4? So far S5 seems like it was added on.

Oh,something I just remembered...
Jesse is in his therapy group getting shit off his chest, and he mentions killing a "dog" when he was talking about Gale. I am thinking, "No Jesse... don't say dog.... someone is going to go off the deep end." And then yep, some bitch starts getting all up in his grill about his killing A HELPLESS ANIMAL. I bet she wouldn't have said shit if Jesse straight up said he shot a dude in the face.
I know people like this irl. Fucking psycho animal lovers.

Skyler was cool for about 5 minutes and now she is starting this "The kids will not be around you and I will hurt myself because I am sad and scared" bullshit.
But on the other hand, I think Walt did have a mental snap when he was in the crawl space, and I think Mike is right, that Walt is a ticking time bomb. Walt seems determined to keep going bigger until someone kills him.

They are all fuck ups, that try to be responsible after fucking up, but then fuck up again.
Been thinking about this.
Basically, I can't relate. I joined the Marines at 19, got married at 22, bought my first house at 23, got a real job at 25, and basically was never a huge fucking idiot even though I was in my 20's. Sometimes it feels like I turned 45 the day I turned 20, because I needed to be 45 in order to be successful. Being 20 wasn't getting it done.
So I can't relate with Jesse. He seemed like a self-destructive idiot who more than once was at a point where he was set for life, and kept pissing it away.
More BB thoughts later. Just finished the series.

I'll address random thoughts one at a time as I think of them.
"Everything I did....
"If I have to hear you say you did it for the family again I think I'll...
"Everything I did.... I did for me. To feel alive."
Yeah... that answers the doubts I kept having, about how in S1 he had a plan to hook up his family before he died, but then surviving, and continuing to grow until it seemed like he wanted to get caught. He was mother fucking Heisenberg. He hated having to hide it. As with Jesse, he made some bad decisions here and there. In S1 he kept losing the little money he made. In S4 (?) he has enough to quit but then Skyler gave it away to Benneke so he has to keep going. But, over all, he hit a point where Walt actually did die and then Heisenberg just pretended to be Walt from time to time. I THINK that point came when he was going insane in the crawl space, but someone else can throw out some situations to try to pinpoint it.
Who was the first person he killed, directly? Was it the street dealers he ran over with the car, and then shot the one in the head as a coup de gras?
