Best/Worst Fast Food Joints
5 Guys is fine if you want to spend $12 for a burger and fries.... but to be honest, they have all been going up in price lately, so.
Jersey Mikes.... I have mentioned them before. Great subs, and weren't expensive last time I had it about 8 years ago.
Firehouse subs: I had them once, but didn't even know it was a thing. I didn't find anything top-10 about it.
I'm still a BK fan. They aren't as good as they were 20 years ago, I suspect they reduced the quality of meat they are using, but it's my go-to burger when I need something fast.

For fast food burgers you just can't beat Whataburger. I do like me a good whopper (no pickles, extra mayo) but I'll take a toasted-bun whataburger (no pickles, extra mayo) over that every day of the week.
For fast food in general, no one will ever top Chick-Fil-A in overall quality and service. Every store of their's I've been to has been ridiculously well managed and the food is always spot on delicious.
The Chipotle stores I've been to have been some of the nastiest places I've ever seen. I've been in truck stop bathrooms that were cleaner. I wouldn't eat there if you paid me to.
I don't get the appeal of Jersey Mike's. Their cold subs are meh and their hot subs are soggy-breaded disasters. So icky.

Five Guys is just shit. Only American cheese, only well done burgers... fucking shit.
Fuck yes.
When they first came into this area I heard all about how awesome they were. I have been there four times now between two locations, and they're very meh. Also very greasy.
Very overrated.

True story.
I've been enjoying Zoup! lately. Their gazpacho is decent, and their southwest turkey sandwich is very good.

They're a soup/sandwich place that really features the soup. They have 8-12 at a time, and you are free to taste test them all before ordering.
I know for a fact that their soup is always 1-3 days old. After that, their policy is to dump it. (I'm sure that might vary based on ingredients.)
The gazpacho was honestly good. Not as good as some I've had in better sit down restaurants, but still very edible.

Oh yeah, Chic-fil-a. I don't even think of them as fast food. And I also like they had that anti-gay controversy a while back, because ever since then the wife and I refer to it as "bigotry chicken." As in, "Hey, I don't feel like cooking tonight, how bout we go out and get some Bigotry Chicken?" "Hell yes, good idea!" Thank you, facebook person coined that phrase because you were legitimately upset. We mock your pain every time we say it, and that makes it taste that much better.
Also, someone needs to coin the phrase "Sexism Lobby" because I will never stop shopping there when it is pinewood derby time.

Yeah, Chick-Fil-A is politically annoying, but I still eat there. Just every so often I make an offsetting donation to Marriage Equality and I figure I'm good. Paid both sides, but paid the right side more so it's all good.

If this were facebook I'd give this a thumbs up. Would be here, but I'd give it a thumbs up.GORDON wrote:Oh yeah, Chic-fil-a. I don't even think of them as fast food.
