Kids in this country don't all go home after school and obsessively play soccer. Not a large enough percentage.

I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday and some national soccer guy (not sure who it was). Said he compares the United Stated soccer team to be the NCAA football equivalent to West Virgina. Pretty good team that can come out and beat anybody given the right circumstances, but no real shot at the championship. Sounds about right to me, they can play with the big boys, but they are gonna lose in the end. Still makes watching it fun though..

That might be the worst outcome I've ever experienced as a sports fan.

That was brutal. I'm usually a fan of our right CB. Geoff Cameron. I even have a jersey of his.

He is why we lost that game, just terrible defensive lapses on the clearance and the late header. Truly fucking brutal.

Jones' shot was surreal though, one of the best long range shots of the tournament so far.

I'd have been thrilled with 4 points a month ago, but maybe not today.

We really don't have much work to do to get out of our group. I'm imagining a very dull game against Germany.

Yeah, Stranger and I were speculating the same thing about Germany. Will both teams come in with the brakes on or will one be gunning to eliminate the other?

Germany was in a very similar situation in the last game of group play in the 1982 World Cup. Maybe just maybe we can get some collusion again.
