Shaolin Soccer

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Earlier movie from the same guy who made "Kung Fu Hustle," so I thought I'd check it out.

This director reminds me of the Quentin Tarantino of Chinese kung fu movies, and Shaolin Soccer feels like Reservoir Dogs as compared to Pulp Fiction.

The pacing of the film is a bit uneven, but overall is worth seeing, especially if you enjoyed Kung Fu Hustle.

I watched the English-dubbed Mandarin version, and the sound was poorly mixed. All cinematic score was loud and clear, but the voices and other sounds were damned near inaudible. I hope it was just the version I saw and the DVD will be mixed better. It was akin to watching an old silent movie with a guy on a piano playing along to the movie, but in color.

This is a moderately enjoyable flick.

The soundtrak seemed alright. The dubbing was about as good as some of the old obscure Jackie Chan flicks that were hastily imported to the U.S. when his popularity went up.

I saw the Blu-Ray version. Like Gordo said, the pacing was a bit uneven, but overall an enjoyable flick.

I saw the sub-titled version, not dubbed. much better that way
