First day in Europe! Burning a big chunk of pto for this two week trip.

Today I'm in Amsterdam. The weather is nice, the women are all blonde, and the canals are cool.

Lots of Europe qualifies as "shithole." I always think of my experiences there when some hippy tells me we should be more like "enlightened Europe." I remember restaurants in Athens where the toilet was just a hole in the concrete in a back room.

I remember the first time I saw that in an Italian train station. In 1992.

Two bucks for any sort of bathroom use in the Zuric train station. Switzerland succkkked (even if the train ride was gorgeous)

Need to do a full effort post this week from my journal.
