The Black Hole - The Disney one from the 70's.

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I haven't seen this since it was released in theaters back in '78 or whenever it was. At the time I was soooo obsessed with it, but we were poor and there were no repeat viewings and I just had my memory replay to watch the movie again.

I remembered almost everything. BOB and VINCENT and the Palimino and the Cygnus, and Maximilion drilling into that dude's chest in a rated PG Disney movie.

I expected the graphics to be worst.... but they weren't bad and I saw worst special effects in 80's movies (Looking at you, The Last Starfighter).

I remembered the ending was LSD trippy... and I remembered right. So it was basically Hell, right? The bad guy and maximilian merging to be the devil?

Anyway, my wife and kid absolutely hated it, so I am mad at them for tonight because they don't like the same things I went apeshit over as a kid.

Clearly your wife and your kid are WRONG. I'm not sure what suitable punishment for them would be, but being mad at them is a start.

I LOVED that movie as a kid. I owned the book + record, and played it again and again on my little Fisher Price 45.

I had a Black Hole coloring book when I was real little, like 1st or 2nd grade. Don't remember when I finally saw the movie; was YEARS later. I remember thinking it wasn't terrible.

Seconded.

Oh yeah, and the reason I started this thread: VINCENT is the helper bot. He is always quoting old sayings. One I liked was, "There are three basic types, Mr. Pizer: the Wills, the Won'ts, and the Can'ts. The Wills accomplish everything, the Won'ts oppose everything, and the Can'ts won't try anything."

I know for a fact I had a towel with a shitload of those characters.
