Certainly, this was the work of Satan himself. This is how The Exorcist started.

“I unfortunately can't give the young man’s name who served it, because I was so appalled that I could not bring myself to look at him,” Pinion wrote in her post, according to the Louisiana Advertiser. “I am in no way judging his beliefs or dis-meriting his beautiful artwork, I am however judging his lack of professionalism and respect for others. I am a teacher in the public school system and if I were to present a child of atheist or pagan believers with a Christian art project I could be sued in a heartbeat. I am of Catholic faith and would love to share in my beliefs daily. Fortunately I have enough common sense to present myself with professionalism and follow an ethics code. Perhaps that could be suggested to that particular location.”

Sorry... can't fault her response to it. If people can have a fucking stroke over a nativity scene at Christmas (for which the holiday is actually celebrated), then I don't think it's out of bounds to ask that Satanic symbols no be put in my coffee. Apparently religion is only offensive if you're Christian.

It's highly unlikely that this was about some coffee guy attempting to spread his belief in Satan through the medium of coffee foam. It's much more likely this is some coffee guy choosing to do something to piss off the Christian customer that he found extremely annoying.

As to nativity scenes, I personally don't care if there's one in front of city hall as long as there is none of my tax money spent on it. And as long as other religions that want to can come set up their own seasonal displays and none of them are turned away. But turn away one, and you must turn away all. On this particular point I am not annoyed by religion in general, it is the way people completely ignore the constitution and turn Christianity into a favored religion of the state that pisses me off. The US was very explicitly not established as a Christian nation.

True, but most people saying "Merry Christmas" at Christmas usually trying to spread their belief either, but that doesn't stop some people from again having strokes all over the place.

Well, sure, there are assholes of all religious faiths - and none - in the world. I don't deny that at all. But person A being an asshole is not a proper reason for person B to choose to be an asshole.

Back to the story, I thought her response about it was pretty tame and reasoned.

Bah. I would've had some fun with it.
