Synopsis:
Warner Brothers pretends it's pre-WWII in that they can still do decent cinema noir.
Review:
You've got some names here -- Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, Robert Patrick, Nick Nolte (looking like Jabba the Hutt), Giovanni Ribisi, Emma Stone, and a couple others -- but this movie is simply boring. There were a lot of "fucks" for a PG-13, but if this got an R then they pulled the punch on virtually every gunshot death. The name is barely off from Generic Gangster Movie, but nothing else is.
