This is a thing which I haven't utilized much, but I have been aware of its existence. Until a few minutes ago I knew that the last 4 albums I have purchased have also been available to play from the internet from this thing.

I JUST got an email from amazon...

Songs from these 119 CDs you purchased from Amazon in the past are now available for you in Cloud Player for FREE

1. Holy shit, I have purchased 119 albums from amazon? There is shit in my list that I bought 8-10 years ago.

2. And yep, I looked at my cloud storage, and all the albums are now in there. They said that music I ought from amazon doesn't count toward my storage cap. Sweet.

Just went through my Amazon Cloud storage list... oldest album on there was purchased February, 2004. I wonder if they will eventually go older. I have been buying music from amazon since they took over cdnow.com back in.... 1999?

I use Cloud Player all the time, good quality.

So should you, it looks like.

That's cool that they basically backed up your music collection?

I'm not sure I've purchased a single CD in the last decade.

A lot of it. I have about 500 cds over there on the shelf, though.

Also I meant to say this: I have not really ever needed any cloud services, because if you travel with a laptop or a smart phone or just a thumb drive, you already have most of the files you would ever need. Well, I do, anyway.

Additionally, I have played with VPNs in the past, so I know I can always virtual-drive my very own server if I ever need to. So Amazon Cloud is like... "Well, there's yet another option I have if I ever need one."

Storage is cheap, which is why they are literally giving it away, these days.
