EA announces C&C is going F2P.

Gaming community's reaction? "Go fuck yourself, EA!"

If I was a shareholder in EA, I'd be doing everything I could to get the entire management of the company replaced, rename/rebrand the company, and/or sell off the existing properties and call it a day.

I never bought the last C&C game, because of the DRM. I've been buying them since the beginning, I was a no-brainer for their marketing team.

I bought it through Steam, and it sucked.

I hated the way they altered the C&C camera. It was the opposite of the...brain farting...Total Annihilation camera.

To give those who haven't played each game an idea of what the problem was, I'd say the C&C camera was like playing an FPS (Doom, Half-Life, etc.) only your main character view is through binoculars.

Plus the story was shit, and the game play was lacking.

Nobody in this industry, and possibly any other industry, mishandles existing franchises than EA.

Not that they're a major player anymore, but think I watched Interplay fuck up worse. Their cash cushion wasn't as big, though.

I would disagree Malcolm.

No company has purchased more existing licenses and run them into the ground than EA.

They are easily the most hated brand in consumer entertainment.
