Cloud Atlas

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Apparently, a pretty popular book that people said could never be made into a movie.

Well, it's a movie.

I saw a lot of big names in that 5 minute trailer. This looks to be interesting.

It does look interesting, but it looks like the plot could be a mess.

I enjoyed it.

The first half hour I didn't enjoy it. I was too busy trying to figure out exactly how these stories are supposed to tie together to enjoy it. Then I gave that up as a lost cause and just watched it as a group of unrelated stories told in parallel and then I enjoyed it.

I wouldn't mind seeing them non-parallel, in chronological order. I know then it probably wouldn't be very interesting, but it'd be nice to sort out exactly what happened in each story without the others getting in the way.

Hugo Weaving stole the show, IMO.

I had a hard time enjoying this.

Yes, I get what was happening.... except maybe for the gay dude who was a composer and shot the guy in the stomach. I don't see how that connected with anything.

Also, the speech in the post-apocalypse world with the cannibals was usually too fast too understand.

But anyway, 3 hour movie, and I had to shut it off at 2 hours because I had to play games.... and I just never felt like finishing it for like 3 weeks until I had nothing better to watch at lunchtime.

There was a bit more "bummer" in it than I like in a movie.

My thoughts exactly.

I still don't see how they all tied in together, but I did enjoy watching the movie. It's not one I'd ever watch again, but I saw it, and I didn't hate the experience. I just can't really tell others they need to see it.
