Article.

I am very torn on this issue.

A corporation is showing responsibility, but is dictating to my family how to live...but it's THEIR channels and shows, thus THEIR advertisers.

I guess I'm ok with it as long as we end it at children's programming. Fine, don't show the kids anymore Lucky Charms commercials, but I'd better continue to see beer commercials during the Super Bowl.

I'm ok with it... my kid knew corporate branding too early, as it is.

They are ahead of the nanny state, soon everything not good for you will be bad, and thus illegal, Demolition Man-style.

Since it's Disney, not the government, I'm OK with it.

My 5yo still doesn't have brand awareness outside of McDonalds and ChikfilA... but she never watches live TV.
It's not me, it's someone else.

5 is about when he was recognizing Applebees and Walmart and McD's, etc. Stuff he saw in the world, or in the house.

Disney, of course.

He only ever watched Disney Channel and education-entertainment shows until he was 6, which don't sell stuff... besides themselves.

Gotcha, never watched Disney.

We tried Sprout at some point, but damn there were a lot of commercials.

Disney Jr. (formerly Playhouse Disney) = no product commercials at all, if I recall correctly.

Thought of you when I said it, because you remind me of Sandra Bullock.
