Just so much stupid... - The MSM Thread
Because we honestly need a thread for the MSM's stupidity that doesn't fall into other categories, like their political bias and such...
Actual headline: Basketball player got good by giving up video games
Really? He simply gave up video games, and his basketball game improved? Even though study after study shows that video games improve your eye hand coordination, your decision making, and your ability to see and react to things? It has nothing to do with the fact that he played basketball instead of playing those video games?
Couldn't the headline have simply said, "Doing something more often makes you better at it!" instead of blaming something else for sensationalism's sake?
And, by the way, this is news? This was top page news today. Apparently, all of the rest of the world's problems have been cured.

Yeah, but I didn't read it thinking, "See! Those video games are evil!!!"
I clicked it thinking, "WTF are these morons claiming now?"

I have no response to you trolls except to say that every time you now posted things bashing the media (and I know at least two of you do on occasion), I will now be linking this thread as a response.

Saying meta is so meta.

Lol - wikipedia for him
In April 2009, when asked about his Wikipedia article, he commented, "[It] is filled with inaccuracies, and it kind of depresses me." When asked why he didn't correct it, he replied, "The next day someone will fix it back."[26] In Aug. 2011 Hofstadter said he is happy with the article and the only inaccurate part of his Wikipedia entry was the previous sentence because the inaccuracies were subsequently fixed
It's not me, it's someone else.
Yes I am.thibodeaux wrote:Yeah, but I'm a cranky old man. Are you in that club, too?Leisher wrote:You do the same thing!!!Well, what do you want us to say? "Yeah, the media is stupid."

But what is really frustrating about this thread:
1. I'm really, really irritable today.
2. I don't disagree that getting me to click their link is their goal.
3. I don't disagree that pointing out the MSM is biased and stupid is like beating Helen Keller at Marco Polo.
4. Their shit is still fucking stupid, and you guys know it, especially those of you who are "science guys" because this particular article is implying science behind their logic.
5. You all picked a wonderful day to troll. (See #1)
I need a nap.
