Personally, I think it's impossible to judge if he went too far or not because we don't know the girl. Bitching about your parents and acting like you have to do everything around the house isn't exactly original for a teenager. They all do it.
So if this was a typical teenage bitch session, he went too far.
However, if the girl is a constant problem and just doesn't get it, and the man has had enough, maybe this will wake her up.

He wasted a laptop, immediately made people think he was nuts (which negates his entire point for them), and didn't give nearly enough history to really get viewers on his side. Plus, the majority of his audience was her FB friends, so his actions made her look like the victim. She's probably running around saying, "See?!? This is what I have to deal with!!!" and other teenagers, who we all know are the stupidest things on the planet, buy her logic.

Without knowing more, I'd have to say he probably lost the high moral ground with this video. It has the sort of vibe one would get from a petulant teenager, like he's stooped to her level of immaturity by handling it this way. Whether that's because he needs to grow up a little himself or because he's trying to do something she might finally understand, I can't really say.
However, if he actually follows through with what he was saying, she may end up growing up a little because of it in the end.
