I never did like the "men don't talk about problems because they'd be embarrassed" line. Usually, there's just no damned point. Flapping your gums doesn't fix the hole in the roof.
And from what I've seen, most (straight) adult men don't give a shit what other people think about them (besides their employer, of course), so that's something else we have over women.
Men see "talking about their problems" as a waste - of time.
The paper, "How Girls and Boys Expect Disclosure About Problems Will Make Them Feel: Implications for Friendships," will be published in an upcoming edition of the journal Child Development.
probably get more readers if you call the paper something simple, like "Hitler on Ice"
