I admit it, I've been a Madonna fan for a long time. It even started my first year in the Marines when I was hard up for music and picked up The Immaculate Collection. But now, 20 years later, Madonna is getting old. Almost all of her albums for the last decade have been really great (Except for American Life where her liberal bullshit was showing), but she is what... in her 50's, now? She won't live forever, and I was worried where my next guilty pleasure would come from.

Lady Gaga may be the next Madonna. Her first 2 albums are outstanding, she seems dedicated to her art (the art of being... strange), just like Madonna has always been, reinventing herself with every album. Like Madonna, she seems to have some actual talent. I hope, like Madonna, she can remain creative once the money starts rolling in.

Now, with this video, I think she may be the next Michael Jackson, too. This was my fave song from her second album, and here is the new video:

If that goes down, try this:

For fun, try to find the reference to Command and Conquer in the video.

I'll admit to being a big fan of Just Dance when it came out, and also of LoveGame and Bad Romance.

But, apparently, I also like Justin Timberlake, so my tastes are questionable.

I was aware of an artist called "Lady Gaga" for the last year or so, but had never heard any of the music. Then I figured I better see what all the hype was, so I bought The Fame.

Rock Band is going to have some Lady GaGa songs to release soon and along with it the Cartman version of poker face.

I thought is was a joke first but has been on a few sites and they are all saying mid march.

Just realized, the Telephone video is a sequel to the Paparazzi video.

This is a neat clip from the Grammys. A duet with her and Elton John. They did a good job combining his "Your Song" and her "Speechless."

Ditto. Even managed to get 5 of the songs. Apparently it's overloading their servers.

If you take it directly to the cloud you can play it immediately, you just can't DL all of them immediately.

Isn't this exactly the kind of problem BitTorrent swarms were invented to handle?

Story about amazon's servers getting slammed.

http://www.cnn.com/2011....?hpt=C2

And, what a bunch of assholes giving it 1 star because they had to wait an hour for a $1 album.

My first impression is that the album isn't 'awesome,' but it is well worth a dollar. I was even able to play it instantly in spite of the physical DL being delayed.

Ha, "physical download."

I think I am going to go back and give it a 5. The universe will dispense karma through me.

I haven't even listened to it yet. Just figured, for $1, might as well.

I did see one dude give it one star due to his opinion on the music and not the craptacular infrastructure problems.

Gaga on Letterman.

I have no opinion on her at all, but I don't think she comes off well.

I don't mind spoiled brat. For example, Paris Hilton doesn't bug me, but people's reactions to her does...

However, when Gaga starts going into the spirituality shit, both me and Letterman started tuning out.

Eh, artists get some leeway when it comes to their right brain's bias. Scientists don't.
