Irony alert: dude badmouths the Tea Party, then says Juan Williams compromised his "ethics" when he admitted uneasiness at seeing "Muslim garb" on airplanes.

The left-wingosphere is, unanimously, saying the NPR guy didn't do anything wrong because he was just telling the truth.

rom what I can tell, Schiller worked hard to keep the potential giver happy while maintaining a modicum of face. Still, he shot his mouth off in directions that don't make him or his organization look very professional. Did he talk like that because he believes the things he said or because he's found that sucking up to suckers who want to give money to NPR works? Or both? (Weigel calls his pandering "masterful.")
I see less of a crime here than I do a misdemeanor. I've never been a big one for criminalizing or punishing speech.

But does this apply to Juan Williams? At least Slatedude goes on:

If we're going to defund NPR (and I think we should), let's do it for the right reasons—because government shouldn't be in the business of funding news collection, not because somebody on the money-raising side of the operation said supremely stupid things during a sting.

What's the point here?

EDIT: Just got to the stuff about jews. Mildly interesting, but I think that part goes more towards demonstrating that these two will pander for $5 mil than showing any real antisemitic thinking on their part.

I'm not forgiving. It is a matter of principle. Whether you sell out your morals for $5 or $5 million, you're a whore to some extent.

Jon Stewart did a good bit on this guy tonight. Made him look like a real idiot ... not that that's difficult.

Of course he then immediately compared NPR to Fox News and called Fox News worse, but that's sort of an automatic reaction on his part.
