Heard two interesting ones this weekend:

#1 - If I remember correctly, the wife told me about this one. She heard it on one of the morning shows or something. Anyway, one of the loopholes is that if you don't want the insurance, which will cost you a ton of money, just don't get it and pay the low fee instead. Then when you need it, nobody can deny you coverage for your pre-existing condition. This was brought up to a health care "expert" and they admitted there's nothing stopping you from doing that.

#2 - One of my wife's friends is a lawyer. Not just a lawyer, but a future superstar lawyer who has earned a shit tone of ridiculous awards and opportunities (One of them only three lawyers get a year or something like that. Firms were fighting over her). Also, before you ask, no she is not "pro" health care bill. She's actually against it, but has a job to do. Anyway, she had to actually read the bill twice and is speaking at two seminars about it to answer people's questions. Here is some of what she told my wife:
-If you don't want insurance, don't get it, and don't pay the fee. They can't do shit about it. It's like the traffic cameras (check your local laws on those) in that they not only can't arrest you, but they can't even put it on your credit.
-As it stands, this bill will never become law. A few of the immediate changes will, but overall, there's no way.
-It's a complete mess with very little detail.

I don't doubt this for a minute, since Congress likes to give broad authority to regulating bodies and let them do all the work.

Yet, wasn't the bill something like 2,000+ pages? And all that with very little detail?

How did we get here?

We decided to ignore the 10th Amendment.

It's the most important one of the bunch, IMO, but has been completely ignored. *sigh*

I'll agree with that.

But I think the 2nd amendment is the most important one. It's the "fail-safe" to safeguard the others.

Maybe so, but it failed. When states went to war to defend the 10th and citizens invoked the 2nd they lost so here we are.

If there are states in AmericaII, they should be allowed to succeed, although it should be somewhat difficult so as to make sure they mean it. They can even rejoin later, but if so that should be a bit of a slow process.

That was so interesting I watched the whole thing.

It makes me sad that there is no way in hell our government will give a shit about anything he said.

Of course not; his system allows them no opportunity to steal.

Very interesting. I want to find a doctor like that in Houston.

Googling got me nowhere, so I emailed Dr. Forrester's office to ask if there's listings somewhere for folks looking for a doctor like him. I wonder if he'll respond.

No go. He replied politely, but doesn't know of anyone in my area (nor a listing anywhere).

Reports says U.S. health care sucks donkey balls.
Every other system covers all its citizens, the report noted and said the U.S. system, which leaves 46 million Americans or 15 percent of the population without health insurance, is the most unfair.

Fuck you, you sanctimonious bitch. If the health care in this country sucks so much, why are you so quick to get everyone on it? You think increasing the load's going to place less stress on the system?

"The lower the performance score for equity, the lower the performance on other measures. This suggests that, when a country fails to meet the needs of the most vulnerable, it also fails to meet the needs of the average citizen," the report reads.

There's not even any logic in there. What the fuck kind of non sequitar argument is that?
