Smoking Aces 2: Assassins' Ball

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

An FBI analyst has a hit put out on his life by a mysterious underworld figure whose true identity isn't known. The analyst is taken to a top secret location and protected by a large group of some of the FBI's best agents. Meanwhile, some of the world's top assassins' are doing what they can to collect on the bounty.

This movie is nothing more than an excuse for guns, explosions, and one liners. Normally, I'd be ok with that, but this movie was horribly written. Character depth is actually ok for as fast paced as the plot is, but don't expect to know everything about everyone, particularly the assassins. Also, there's a twist that you'll see coming from a mile away. Hell, you might know it just from my review.

Lots of irregularities in the gun battles too. Shots that do too much damage, shots/explosions that do too little, trained FBI agents acting like newbs in combat, arrows fired by one guys coming from different directions, etc. A few "miracles" go completely unexplained.

A few cool concepts behind the actual assassins. and the bunker is pretty kick ass, but it's all wasted in this film.

The best part was an FBI agents speech about why hip hop sucks versus Jazz and the blues.

Skip it, but if you can see it for free and you really must fill your action need, it'll do ok for that.

3 out of 10.

Actually sounds worst than the first one. A wanna-be "Snatch" that falls flat on its ass onto a cactus.

I couldn't help but like the first one. Not sure why.
