Support Apple? Kill workers.
I find it very interesting that the company who came onto the scene promising to crush Big Brother, and is beloved by hippies everywhere, uses factories whose conditions are so bad that the workers are killing themselves.

May also be because Chinese labour practices are insane.
Yeah, that's the point.
If Apple is this "little guy" who isn't like the big brother corporations of the past, and they're the hippest, greenest, etc. then why are they allowing such shit to go on?

I don't think they've been able to pull off that PR angle for quite some time now. If there is anyone left who believes that, they are quite stupid.Leisher wrote:If Apple is this "little guy" who isn't like the big brother corporations of the past, and they're the hippest, greenest, etc. then why are they allowing such shit to go on?

Did you catch Jon Stewart's dialogue from about 2 weeks ago where he suggested that maybe Apple was becoming big brother?
Yes, there are many out there who think Apple is the hip rebel of the marketplace.
As I've said a million times, Apple doesn't make particularly great products compared to the rest of the market, but they promote them better than anybody. And part of that is promoting themselves as hip, cool, rebellious, green, etc.

Sure, some, but they are all stupid.
You say some, I'm sticking with many.

Funny thing on NPR last night.
The story was "How rich you would be if you bought Apple stock instead of Apple products"
If, instead of buying the $3,500 Macbook in 2003, you invested the money in Apple stock, you would have $100,000 worth today.
Ipod Mini from 2004? $249 bucks, would give you $6,000.
I took from the article "don't buy apple products, and you will be better off"

Bah! Completely untrue.
If they were revolutionizing the market with new ideas, I'd agree.
As it is, they're simply using other people's ideas and marketing them well with a polished product.
Of course, I don't think Microsoft is the technology leader either.
