Trailer

I love that trailer.

My worry about that game though is that Crysis started off great and went downhill during the second half of the game. The problem is the second half of that game is where the storyline is going to go.

Here's hoping that suit has some new tricks to even the playing field because those flying things are like mini-end bosses.

Regarding the trailer: nice to see a different song used to evoke that mood instead of "What a Beautiful World" or "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

I got the flu this weekend, so instead of using the down time to sleep, I instead conquered Crysis 2.

Fun game, especially for the $5 I spent during the Steam sale to get it.

It's a standard, linear FPS that continues the story started in Crysis, but with a different protagonist. This time the action is in New York and not Korea.

Basically, you're a Marine named Alcatraz who is headed to New York via sub (Easily, one of the most perplexing things in the history of gaming.) to support Prophet, a soldier that wears the enhanced armor central to this series. One thing leads to another, and you're now in the armor.

While the game is very linear, the story and action drive you forward. The game play is really solid, and the action goes from perfect stealth to insane, over the top action. I didn't fire a shot while killing the first dozen or so enemies, but fired about 100,000 by the time the game was over.

There are 10-12 different weapons, and which ones you'll want to use vary based on who you're fighting... Cakedaddy will be happy to know that you can only carry two weapons at a time, not counting grenades and C4. Ok, they do allow you to carry an RPG as well if you happen to find one, and there are two other weapons that you can hold, but can't do anything else while you're holding them.

Ammo conservation is a thing in this game. Especially with the big boomers like the RPG. Use them only when it's clear that's the weapon of choice.

There's a nano tech system that allows you to upgrade your armor, but it's mostly underwhelming. The most expensive item is only needed one time late in the game.

This is recommended for any FPS player.
