Another indy film.
This follows the story of two guys living in LA, one of whom happens to be the nephew of a famous, but elusive Hollywood producer. The big shot is out of town and the two guys lose his Rolex given to him by Marilyn Monroe. Hijinx ensue.
This was part boring, part ok. The acting throughout is decent enough, and the story was ok, but something about the film just didn't make it too compelling.
LOTS of cameos from B and C list actors and actresses. So whomever made this film had friends in the industry. In fact, the whole thing is sort of a Hollywood insider's story.
The best part of the film, by far, is the female lead, Kari Wuhrer who shows off her amazing ass. She's hot throughout and plays a strong character who manipulates people towards what is kind of a cool idea, and very Hollywood.
The bad part about her is the portrayal of the two male leads and how they respond to her. I won't lie and say a beautiful woman has never manipulated me, but never to the extent that the two male leads experience. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but for one of the male leads, who is supposedly a male whore, it goes against character.
Overall, it's not a horrible film, nor is it truly memorable (aside from Kari Wuhrer's ass). You won't be disappointed if you rent it or never see it. Just don't expect to love it.
5 out of 10.
(Although, if this were a big studio film, I'd score it lower.)
