Mark Wahlberg, best known as the guy from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, is an ex-Marine sniper who gets caught up in some wacky hijinks after he retires.
The good: a protagonist who thinks justice can be dictated from the barrel of a gun.
The bad: The presence of Danny Glover and Ned "Where You Goin City Boy" Beatty fill this movie with "amerikkka is evil oil-mongering evil on a stick." One of the protagonists is even wearing a Che Guerva shirt at one point.
It was a fun movie if you can ignore all of the heavy-handed bullshit and just get behind an underdog taking out a corrupt system one high caliber round at a time.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
“Activism is a way for useless people to feel important, even if the consequences of their activism are counterproductive for those they claim to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole.” - Dr Thomas Sowell
