Iran's team deals with some shit, but had become the first team to ever participate in a WC in a country their country is (was) at war with.
It sounds like both the U.S. and Iranian governments have a hand in the team's treatment.
It's still pretty amazing that the most oppressive government in history welcomed this team to its soil. (There's really not a good sarcasm emoji.)
