Maybe it's time to end social media.

Europe modified their 2035 end of gasoline engines a bit.

It's not killing the narrative, it's reality, modifying the trajectory.

I had the same takeaway. His rant was a bit too extreme.

Do you know what Ford is doing with their batteries for the EVs? I'll give you three guesses, but I'll bet you only need 1.

I think I read that they were building energy storage batteries? A good business right now, honestly.

They're repurposing those batteries for data centers.

They will do some consumer level ones, but mostly, they'll be heading to assist with AI.

So... yes. Energy storage.

Well, energy storage is what batteries do...

I meant to ask for their specific usage. I'll give you half credit!

Eh, I'll take it :) I thought may it was data center-centric. That's the easiest, gets them online more easily.

I was surprised to hear they're going to send some the consumer way. Imagine having a battery backup under your desk that was originally going to be in an F150.

Donuts Labs' battery claims may be fraudulent.
Startup Donut Lab made a splash at the start of the year with some astonishing — and suspicious — claims about its solid state batteries. Now Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reports an individual has filed a criminal whistleblower complaint against the company over those claims.

Until recently, Lauri Peltola was listed as the Chief Commercial Officer at Nordic Nano — the firm reportedly contracted to handle portions of the manufacturing on Donut's behalf, and which Donut Lab has invested in. He reportedly filed a criminal complaint that Donut Lab’s promises of energy density and longevity have been overstated and that the company lacks the production capacity previously claimed.
I remember their announcement: https://www.donutlab.com/ces-battery-announcement/

And I remember thinking, if this is real, we'll see. But it feels like every big battery announcement, 90% of them are garbage.

I do not remember them at all.

Batteries, or portable power solutions, does seem like a very ignored sector that needs attention to match the technological curve of society.
