I'm just not ruling anything out!

This is coming up daily in my tech pod too. Nobody is seeing returns on AI.

Will greed might save us from AI? :D

We have some modest returns from AI, but nothing Earth-shattering. It hurts that you have to babysit it so much if it tries to do anything.

The market is oversaturated. I know that sounds crazy to say, but it really is and hurts not only the overall impact of AI, but the environment. We've never had anything this demanding of resources, while also being this destructive before.

It's a bubble that's going to burst and probably soon. The NVIDIA, OPENAI, and...I'm forgetting the third company...circle jerk proves it. Basically, NVIDIA is investing $100B in OpenAI, which OpenAI uses to pay third company, who in turn is using the money to pay NVIDIA. Listen to, I believe yesterday's Tech Brew, as he broke it all down.

Ultimately, returns are not being seen, investment money is drying up, and a lot of the deals being seen are "in industry". Not even mentioning the absolutely insane salaries.

That's the other piece. Who feels comfortable just letting AI work and then not completely going over its work? Really defeats the purpose.

BTW, yesterday I learned that is called "work slop". Humans using AI to do their work, which ultimately ends up forcing others to do additional work to pick up the slack. I forget the percentages of people doing this, but it was significant. (Not overwhelming)

The third company is Oracle

Imagine actors that don't have scandals or spout off about their political beliefs during junkets for their upcoming movies.

I mean, I don't want computers taking me out of a job either. But I can see why people want virtual actors/actresses, and they'll get them, eventually.

I was going to say that their ability to do porn with fewer career ramifications should increase as well.

Ive heard mixed things about Alpha School so far. But I really think this is a potentially great use case for AI, letting people learn at their own pace. No idea what that means for group projects, etc.

Bloomberg made a graphic of the AI bubble we've been talking about.

Reminds me of this joke:
The first economist says to the other “I’ll pay you $100 to eat that pile of shit.” The second economist takes the $100 and eats the pile of shit.

They continue walking until they come across a second pile of shit. The second economist turns to the first and says “I’ll pay you $100 to eat that pile of shit.” The first economist takes the $100 and eats a pile of shit.

Walking a little more, the first economist looks at the second and says, "You know, I gave you $100 to eat shit, then you gave me back the same $100 to eat shit. I can't help but feel like we both just ate shit for nothing."

"That's not true", responded the second economist. "We increased the GDP by $200!"

Maybe worrying about super intelligent AIs killing off humanity forgets that AIs learn from us, and thus, are morons?
