If there was any doubt that the Browns plan on going back to Deshawn Watson at some point in the future, good ole Jimmy Haslam put the nail in that coffin.
“We took a big swing and miss with Deshaun,” Browns owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters Monday at the NFL owners meetings in Florida.
“We thought we had the quarterback, we didn’t and we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him,”
“We’ve got to dig ourselves out of that hole. … [the trade] was an entire organization decision and it ends with Dee and I, so hold us accountable.” Funny he threw his wife under the bus there!
“It would be great if we could get the quarterback,” Haslam said. “But we’re not going to force it.”

He's just need to hire another black coach then. I hear Hue Jackson isn't up to much lately.
You joke, but I could absolutely see Tomlin hiring him.
Good statement by Haslam.

The NFL projects that its kickoff return rate will rise to between 60% and 70% with touchbacks moved to the 35-yard line, competition committee chairman Rich McKay said last week.
Why? Why would returns increase if you're giving a team an additional 5 yards for NOT bringing the ball out of the end zone? Are they assuming teams will stop kicking it through the end zone?
Both teams will now be able to possess the ball in overtime in the regular season, even if a team scores an offensive touchdown on its first possession
Owners also approved proposals to expand the league's replay-assist system. The on-site replay official will be permitted to reverse flags that are thrown for hits to defenseless players, along with fouls for face mask, horse collar, tripping and running into/roughing the kicker. The replay official will not be permitted to call a penalty for a play in which no flag was thrown, however.
Meanwhile, Detroit's proposal to eliminate an automatic first down as a penalty imposed for defensive holding and illegal contact did not pass, despite the Lions' pleas.
Other proposals passed by owners on Tuesday, included:
A resolution from the Pittsburgh Steelers to allow some direct contact between pending free agents and teams that are pursuing them during the three-day negotiating window that precedes the opening of the league year.
A change submitted by multiple teams that would allow preparing K-balls that are used for kicking before game day as teams are allowed to do with the balls that are used on other plays.
Proposals by the competition committee allowing two players to be designated to return from injured reserve if they are placed on IR when rosters are reduced to 53, granting playoff teams two more returns from IR spots in the postseason, and using point differential as the third tiebreaker on waiver claims.

Yes, the latter.
Good on the OT rule, I think. (Care factor not super high)
Replay assist has been good, when it's been quick. Keep it quick, and I'm a fan.
Seems to be a lot of momentum for Cleveland to draft Travis Hunter now at 2. I think it makes sense. Draft the best available at 2. See if one of the QB's they like is there in the second round, if they don't like them they will probably get somebody later in the draft, maybe a Will Howard type. If this happens then i can see them picking up Flacco after the draft.
IF true...I don't believe anything during draft season as teams intentionally put stuff out there to throw off other teams...That fucks the Giants. They're praying for 2 QBs to come off the board so they can pick whoever the Patriots don't take with Hunter and Carter.
I think the Steelers will also be searching for a QB in round 3 if they don't grab Dart in round 1, assuming Ward and Sanders are off the board. Saints, Raiders, Dolphins, and Seahawks are above them and all need QBs too.

Obviously its hard to believe anything during draft season. But the Giants draft 3rd, so they would still have Carter or Sanders to choose from. Seems odd they would take Sanders after signing both Wilson and Winston, but they need a QB of the future too. Seems like lots of people are talking about Sanders falling in the draft, who knows if thats true. Personally i don't see Dart getting past the Steelers. It makes too much sense. I think the Browns do like Sanders, but not at 2. If he starts to fall maybe they trade up to grab him. But i also think Dart and Milroe are on the radar and they are hoping they fall. Milroe should be there, but i'm not so sure how i feel about him.
I've heard the Steelers might like Milroe, but I don't. I'd prefer Sanders, Dart, or Howard. I've seen analysts say Milroe has the highest ceiling, but let's be honest, they're less accurate than meteorologists.
If the Browns don't love Sanders at 2, they should trade down. Even if they get less than they think they could get.

The problem with the trade down is someone has to love a guy to trade up to get him, i'm not sure there is guy like that this year. The Browns have an advantageous position because they can just take the best guy in the draft, just about everyone has Hunter and Carter as those two. Don't overthink it and take your choice, get the best player in the draft.
The Bran Coverage pod did their mock this week and had the Steelers picking Sanders. I'm starting to think that's likely what will happen. The Steelers posturing for Milroe is horseshit. He's a second rounder and they don't have a second round pick.
Plus, the Saints, who draft above the Steelers, have to take Dart over Sanders, right?

I guess this is the impressive plan that got Miles to resign…

Mike had better be careful if they draft Sanders. Daddy Deion won’t hold his tongue once he sees through the smoke and mirrors.

Probably smart considering he's expected to slide and then potentially end up in the football wasteland Tomlin has created.

Watch out! He's going to trade three first rounders to Pittsburgh for Jerome Bettis.

Browns take Hunter at #2. I'm pretty confident in this one.
Browns will not trade back into first round for a QB.
Browns will take Jalen Milroe at some point in the draft, maybe in the second round, maybe later.
Steelers DO NOT take Sanders if he's available at 21, instead they take a defender, not sure who but that seems to be on brand for them.
Steelers already have a hush hush deal with Arron Rodgers and he will be their QB this year.
Commanders take a DE, possibly OSU's Tuimoloau or TENN's James Pearce. Not really sure what the Commies are thinking but defense seems like the obvious pick and DE's are pretty deep this year.
I predict that Tomlin and Kahn will piss me off...again.
