Bill Paxton... awesomest actor ever?

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Just got done watching this week's Big Love on HBO, and got to thinking.... Bill Paxton has been in most of the "Best Movies Evar."

Now, bear with me.

Weird Science.
Twister.
Tombstone.
True Lies.
Navy Seals.
Commando.
Frailty.
A freaking polygamist on HBO.
He was in a Pat Benetar video.

And I heard that he is the only actor to have been killed by a Terminator, a Predator, AND an alien.

Let's not forget Club Dread.

Jesus. Is there anything Bill Paxton can't do?

Closest thing I know to that is some dude that's been killed by Michael Myers, Freddy, & Jason.

I avoid movies that he is in just because he's such a bad actor.

Wasn't he in Titanic?

There were several reasons to avoid that flick. Writing, acting, plot, & directing come to mind.

Did you ever see A Simple Plan? That was god-awful, and mostly because of him.

I just heard someone say "A Simple Plan" is one of their favorite movies, I can't remember who though. Maybe it was the morning folks on the radio...

Anyway, yes, Bill Paxton was in Titanic. He's actually one of the biggest grossing actors of all time. I think he might be #2 behind Harrison Ford.

Well, the movies he's in might be, but that's cuz a) he's in a ton of movies and b) he's rarely the lead. I wouldn't call them "his" movies.

I wouldn't either, but I've seen the list printed in various mags/sites and they list him behind Harrison.

Interesting, I went looking for the list, which I last saw when Twister came out (I think), and Bill has moved down and there's a new #1...Samuel L. Jackson.

Although, that's total gross and Samuel has a LOT more movies than most on the list including #2 Ford and #3 Cruise. If you shift it by average per film, Sam drops way down the list.

So Bill was 12th overall, and 81st based on average movie revenue.

Geez, perhaps check out the original post.

But I think since AvP Lance Henrickson might also be there.... I heard that once but I have never verified.
