Billy Jack

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Wow, a mixed fucking bag on this, perhaps the very definition of a B-movie.

Kick-ass, kung fu, ex-Green Beret, half Indian cowboy defending ... hippie pacifist pinko commune. & not quite enough fighting to make up for the (admittedly halfway decently written & delivered) dialog.

If you ain't seen it, guess it's worth a renter. Cult film & all that.

I loved how absolutely terrified he could make people.

"I want you to drive this car into that lake."

"I'm going to take my left foot..."

Saw that one young, so it has a warm place in my heart. Seeing it again years later, all of the hippy craziness really surprised me.

I think there was more time w\ the cast singing on camera than there was of Billy Jack kicking the shit outta folk.

I was willing to look past that. Just cos it was cops, though.

Rewatch Easy Rider some time. The hippy moments in that are... extremely strange.

Note how utterly happy everyone seems while scattering seeds in the desert of the hippy commune.

Didn't say it wasn't worth watching. Just commenting on how much the country has changed in 40 years.

Keep in mind our hippy heroes financed their trip to Mardi Gras by selling heroin. Can you imagine the first 5 minutes of Lord of the Rings having Bilbo sell off his meth stash so he can finance his walk to Rivendell?

I see nothing inherently wrong w\ selling heroin. & I could see Frodo selling off some pipeweed to buy provisions.
