Dodgers give Yamamoto $300M+

That's over $1B for two baseball players.

If you were struggling to make ends meet and watching your kids miss meals, that might irk you.

Might go teach those kids to throw/hit a baseball.

See the David Beckham mini-series? Dude was playing soccer for hours every day. (Obvious success bias here since we didn't hear about the kids playing every day who didnt make it)

If he had a track record for being shitty, why was he allowed to continue?

In a union?

He helped ticket sales?

He bribed congress?

There is a union, yes. Also, it's a good bet he had friends who helped him.

The long standing and poorly kept rumor in the NBA is that David Stern had certain refs he'd send to playoff games to ensure a series went longer (more money) or the right team won.

There must be some clause somewhere that teams are guaranteed fair officiating. I'm surprised the MLB didn't get sued by a team after the 3rd obviously bad call.

I'm not a big follower of baseball. My understanding is that the union is strong, nothing could be done.

Well shit, might as well be pro wrestling if that kind of officiating was tolerated.

I genuinely believe this would help make the sport more popular.

Active MLB player banned for life for gambling.

I think a zero tolerance policy on this is correct.

"We are extremely disappointed of Tucupita's actions and are fully supportive of Major League Baseball's ruling," the Pirates said Tuesday in a statement.
