Uh... I had a guess as to what the title would be. I was wrong. But, I got one word right
It's not me, it's someone else.

Yeah, I figured it was a riff on Snakes on a Plane.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."

Yeah, I kept trying to think of what the new noun would be instead of Snakes. "Is that Jonathan Frakes? Well, clearly not..."

Ha! Tonight I was watching a YT about the new Fantastic Four and thought Jonathan Frakes would be the perfect Mr. Fantastic 20 years ago. If Marvel has an elderly Mr. Fantastic show up he'd be perfect.

Plane (2023)
It's a perfectly serviceable action movie. Gerard Butler continues to play roles in which a white male unapologetically does ugly shit that needs to be done, and doesn't cry about it after.

I enjoyed it. It won't be setting the world on fire by changing the game, but for an action movie, there's very little fat to be trimmed here.
Butler is Butler and I've enjoyed Mike Colter since he played Luke Cage. Pairing them up here worked perfectly. Tony Goldwyn and Paul Ben-Victor were bonuses. I even liked seeing character actor Joey Slotnick.
I really enjoyed how Butler was just a man doing his job. He wasn't special, but was determined. Colter was the "fish out of water" specialist.
Also, I cannot say how much I LOVED watching trained military get treated like they are trained military when in a firefight with untrained idiots who think they're awesome just because they have guns. The fucking sniper rifle kills were worth the cost of admission alone.
The plane stuff was far fetched, but who cares it was a fun movie.
Would rewatch.

When the contracting team made their presence known in the small town, I turned to my kid and said, "God damn, that was a lot of violence in 4 seconds. How many were there, again?"

Their controlled bursts versus the full auto spray and pray method of the untrained folks was perfect.
