A turd I just reviewed, Dashcam, shows up at #8.

Uh...no. You're doing it wrong. There are simply far too many variables that they cannot possibly account for to make such a "definitive" list. First and foremost would be changing audience tastes and special effects.

A perfect example of this is Halloween (1978). Michael Meyers had context to an entire generation of moviegoers at the time. The bogeyman was a concept that all kids had heard about, and it being one of the first ever slashers it really struck a nerve with people. However, today's audiences didn't grow up being warned about the bogeyman, so without that context and with the slower pace compared to today's movies, it's impossible to compare.

Jaws presents a similar situation. Jaws cost the tourism industry millions upon millions of dollars because people were legit afraid to go into the water for an entire summer. I don't think anyone is skipping Zoom calls because of Host...
