8 part series based on the book.
The book was very good, nice thriller with a twist at the end. Main character is self-abusive, cutting, alcoholic Amy Adams. She grew up in small town Missouri, and is now a mediocre reporter in St. Louis. A girl is murdered in her hometown, and she's sent to get the story.
The show covers the same basic ground, but with lots of moody, slow ass scenes. The acting is great. The story is great. It's just longer than it needs to be to get where it gets to, imho. Slow, steady, and mildly disturbing. The reveal is saved for about the final minute of the entire series.
